We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. - Aristotle
Spoletto Vocal Arts Workshop
Spoleto Vocal Arts Workshop is a 10 day course bringing together exceptional talents within the world of singing and opera from the UK, USA, Sweden, Italy, Belgium and France all in the beautiful Umbrian town of Spoleto, Italy.
Spoleto, world famous for its Festival dei Due Mondi founded by Giancarlo Menotti, is also the home of the Mahler LeWitt Studios which since the 1970’s has been providing a focussed and stimulating environment for artists, curators and writers to develop new ways of working in dialogue with peers and the unique cultural heritage of the region.
This is a stunning venue and provides the perfect setting for learning, an inspirational backdrop for young student singers or young working professionals who are looking to mix with fellow singers from around the globe who all wish to study intensively with artists and professionals who are all currently active in the top opera houses and on the concert stages around the world.
Our Story
Matthew Rose and Jeremy Carpenter first worked together in Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier's production of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda at ROH Covent Garden 2014 and since then have built a lasting friendship.
They are both passionate about the traditions and the techniques of singing and the transfer of this knowledge, that they they have been priviledged to gain, to the next generation of singers.
Jeremy in Stockholm via Vocal Masterclass Stockholm and Matthew with Folkstone on song.
This is their first joint venture.
